We got you an exclusive sneak peek of R.L. Stine’s Monsterville: The Cabinet of Souls, starring your favorite Disney couple, Ryan McCartan and Dove Cameron! This movie is totally spooktacular. Beware of creepy witches, scary clowns and brain-eating zombies! Though, according to Ryan McCartan, those weren’t even the scariest part of filming. That’s right, we talked to Ryan exclusively and he shared so many set secrets.
3 Set Secrets From Ryan McCartan
1. “There was that scene in the haunted house, that’s actually a real haunted house we shot in, and the director and the producer were like, ‘We’re going to send you through the actual working haunted house, just so you can get a feel for it.’ We definitely all got pretty freaked out by it. About half way through the haunted house we were like running through it, just to get out.”
2. “There’s this empty room with all of these creepy pictures on the wall [in the haunted house]. And then there was this crystal ball on the table with this lady’s face in it. It’s just a room with a table, but then there was this thing under the table that would shake and make this really loud popping noise. You have to understand, we went through it once to get a feel for it, but then we went through the haunted house like ten times when we were shooting and every time the popping thing went off, it scared the bejesus out of me. Like every time it happened, I would just freak out. I don’t even know what it was. It was just this loud noise in a random room and it always got me.”
3. “We were a really tight cast. We just all loved each other so much and hung out all the time. We went out to eat every night, like every night after we shot. When we had down time on set, we would play word games and riddles. We were those nerds.”
